Harry Potter Text Style

harry potter

For this blog, I followed a tutorial on the link given in class.  I love Harry Potter, so I decided to go with that.  It came with a metal texture also.  In this font, I messed around with every effect imaginable, including bevel & emboss, stoke, inner shadow, inner glow, outer glow, color overlay, pattern overlay (with the metal), and drop shadow.  There were a billion steps to get it to how it looks now, but I would say it is very successful!  At the end, I found a way to create my own stars, messing with the brush tool and making the stroke very long and skinny, rotating the direction 4 times so I could create the star look.  Success overall!

Type Portrait: Adam Levine

type portrait

For this photo, I chose Adam Levine because I love him.  After dragging in the image, I made a mask of his body.  I selected that area and began typing random letters on my keyboard in a very small font.  To make it go quicker, I copy and pasted large portions of the text.  I dragged the mask layer to the text layer, and it became only on Adam’s body.  I then went to Gradient Map and chose a fun gradient!

Cowboy

For this, I dragged in the black and white image of the cowboy.  I went to Image, Mode, RGB color.  From there, I was able to draw on this image with any color I wanted to because it was no longer in Grayscale!

Red Carpet

red carpet

In this piece, I photoshopped my face onto the body of Bella Hadid on the red carpet.  To do this, I dragged the photo of Bella onto Photoshop.  I then Place Embedded the picture of my face.  From there, I did a mask and used the black and white paint brushes to make sure my face looked naturally cut out.  I messed around with color adjustments on both pictures so that the skin tones ended up matching.  In the end, I was happy with the turn out!

Retouching

retouching

I got this image from TCU online.  Then, I pressed command J twice.  One layer named man and one layer named baby.  I brought the brightness up on both images.  On the man layer I clipped out the baby, and on the baby layer I clipped out the man.

First I retouched the man.  I used the spot healing brush on the forehead. Then I used the patch tool on the eye wrinkles by taking from the smoother cheek skin. I used the healing brush again to fix wrinkles all over. To fix the background, I used the clone tool. I then used the dodge and burn tools to bring out either light or dark on the image.

Then I retouched the baby.  In color balance, I put more blue in. I used the red eye tool to fix the red eyes.  Then, with the brush tool at a size one 1, I created green eyes by using varied colors of small dots everywhere.  I used the spot healing brush to get rid of red marks on the face.

Poster Edges Dak

Screen Shot 2018-10-01 at 9.48.36 AM.png

With this photo of Dak, I took one of the previously mentioned eight layers and went to Filter, Filter gallery, and I picked the “Poster Edges” filter under the “Artistic” category.  I loved this one because it looks like something you would see in a comic book.

Accented Edges Dak

Screen Shot 2018-10-01 at 9.49.09 AM.png

For this picture of Dak, we dragged this photo into Photoshop.  Then, we went to Filter, Filter Gallery, and played with a lot of the different options for filters.  I came across this one and really loved it.  It is under the category “Brush Strokes,” and it is called “Accented Edges.”  I decided to leave all the settings as they came once I played around with everything.  Edge width I kept at 2, Edge brightness I kept at 38, and Smoothness I kept at 5.
